Introducing our COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAM’S WORKSITE SPOTLIGHT, a new series of social media posts about the local non-profits in our community. You may see our work program participants at these locations alongside our Community Service staff, but even with our assistance, some places still in need of additional support! 💪
Today’s featured worksite is the Shingletown Library. Our Community Service Program staff traveled to Shingletown to participate in one of their board meetings last week to talk about the library’s current needs and upcoming fundraisers. Our Community Service Coordinator offered many services to accommodate their needs, utilizing both their Adult and Juvenile Work Program participants. 🙌
💡 Did you know? 💡
This particular worksite has survived without funding from any governmental agency and has been staffed and supported entirely by local volunteers for nearly 30 YEARS! 😲 The Shingletown Library host several events throughout the year including a Farmers Market, a book sale, an Octoberfest celebration, bake sales, wine tastings and a Founder’s Day event. They also participate in two different food distribution events and run a summer reading program with crafts and snacks for kids up to age 18. All of these events raise money to keep the library up and running. For more information on all these events and more, check out their Facebook page.
🚨 Don’t forget: Be on the lookout for upcoming social media posts to see all the latest updates on the Shingletown Library and its grounds. There are a lot of changes coming soon!
